Stillman Christmas 2010

Christmas was a little different this year. Usually, we do Christmas Eve with my parents and sisters family and then Christmas Day with my family again and then on to Preston's.

This year, we started with Christmas Eve at my parents church. It was a nice service and now that Presley is starting to understand the real meaning of Christmas, I want to make sure that we make that the focus of the holiday. After the service, we went over to my parents house so that the kids could open gifts. We did this because my nephew had strep throat Christmas week and I just couldn't chance the kids catching it.

It was a fun year with Presley because she knew exactly what she wanted and we knew she would be super excited to get the gifts. She appreciated every gift that she got by saying "Oh my goodness, I can't believe it!". That makes you want to keep giving to her.  So, my parents got her a new scooter this year and she is IN LOVE with it. I was contemplating getting her one, but we got her a bike this year so I held back. Well, I think she likes the scooter more. WHATEVER PRESLEY!

Christmas morning was a dream. To have both of our kids wake up and get to see the presents under the tree...to have big sister get to help little brother open his gifts...It was so fun to watch.

Presley got her much talked about Fur Real Penguin named "Diggaly"....I had said she was not getting anymore penguins but if she wouldn't have gotten this penguin from Santa, I think that she would have stopped believing!!! HA!

I spent most of the day baking. Made an Caramel Apple Pie and Ooey Goey Butter Cookies to take to Jenni's house. We spent the rest of our Christmas over there with all of Preston's family and we had a blast.

This Christmas was definitely one to be remembered!

She learned...

So if you happened to read my post about the penguin party we attended for Presley, then you saw that I was having a hard time with how she was acting at the time. So, in order to "teach" her that it was not nice to not be polite and use manners, I took her penguins away for an afternoon. During the afternoon, I asked her multiple times why I took them and she explained to me the reason and she got it right on the money.

Well, I am happy to say...MY GIRL LEARNED!

I am SO incredibly proud of Presley. After that afternoon, I have been so happy with how she has changed when we are around other adults. She uses her manners, she talks nicely to people....It's so lovely! Now, there is a fine line between "not talking to strangers" and just being nice, but she seems to be doing really well!

I prayed the afternoon that I took the penguins from her that I "teach" her instead of just punishing her.

Thank you God for helping me teach Presley Kate. And thank you for the amazing daughter that I have, that learned.

Learning something new...

I am trying to come up with some creative things to make with the left over scraps that I have. I have accumulated a lot of "scraps" from all of the different projects that I attempt to make and don't like to throw, even the little pieces, away. SO, this is what I have come up with today. I think it turned out cute and I could make them for shirts or shoes or hair!

So...here it is...

Boat Parade

On Saturday night we took the kids to Tempe Town Lake to see the boat parade. It was SO fun. My parents came along and we really did have a blast. The boats were amazing! Presley sat on Daddy's shoulders and had a perfect view. She would let us know when the boats were coming.
